La conferenza, avvalendosi anche di numerose immagini, si propone di far comprendere la visione galileiana del mondo, mostrando come le scoperte del grande scienziato pisano abbiano trasformato la nostra concezione dell’universo. Grazie al telescopio, Galileo vide infatti per la prima volta cose davvero nuove nei cieli, come le montagne sulla luna, le innumerevoli stelle fisse, la Via Lattea costituita da un ammasso di piccole stelle, i quattro satelliti che ruotavano intorno a Giove e perfino delle macchie sulla superficie solare. Verrà quindi spiegata e discussa la reazione della Chiesa nei confronti di questa rivoluzione concettuale, che non sembrava minacciare l’idea che la terra fosse immobile.


EC3 – MIC Conference: Final organization notes

the start of the EC3 Conference is less than a week away!

In the following, you can find some further details regarding the EC3-3rd MIC Conference organization.

Opening Event: The Thursday June 20 opening event will start at 7:30 PM in Piazza Maggiore in Bologna (the meeting point will be visible) and will continue with a dinner at Cantina Bentivoglio, serving world famous traditional bolognese cuisine in a jazz music atmosphere, in the city center. Dress code: smart casual.

Presentations: All presentations will be at the Conference venue, Villa Griffone, the home of Guglielmo Marconi, a magnificent building in Pontecchio Marconi. More information on the venue can be found at this link: https://mic.fgm.it/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=402&Itemid=67

Transportation to the conference venue: On June 21 and June 22 a private transportation coach bus from the Bologna city centre to the Conference Venue and return has been arranged for the 3rd MIC Conference participants. Live streaming: The EC3 Conference will be part of the Webinar Series on Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts by the APA Division 10. All presentations will be taken on camera and streamed in real-time. Please be ready to sign an authorization, if you agree to do so, that we will give to you at the conference registration. This is a great chance to enhance the visibility of your work!
Best Presentation Award: A Best Presentation Award is foreseen. The awardee will be selected by the audience through ratings given by attendees at the end of each session. Keynote speakers are not eligible for the award, due to their longer allocated time. The Award itself was crafted by a Bolognese artist.

Social event: A cocktail will be offered on the evening of June 21 at Villa Griffone. Before the cocktail, a guided visit to the Marconi Museum within the Villa is foreseen for Conference participants.

Transportation from Geneva to Bologna: In the case you will attend also the EC3 Creativity Week in Geneva, we would like to remember to take advantage of the organized tour, which includes the transportation from Geneva to Bologna and the lunch on June 20th. The submission deadline for the EC3 Conference is approaching fast! You still have 4 more days to submit your abstract to the 2nd Creativity Week (idea pitches) and to the  3rd MIC Conference (paper presentations)

2nd Creativity Week, Webster University, Geneva, Switzerland

Submit by email at   wcci@webster.ch a max 250 words description of an idea or question you would like to pitch for an idea incubators along with contributors’ details. Pitches involve 5 min presentations followed by discussion. Incubator sessions will group 3-4 related pitches and involve both contributors and the audience. More information can be found here.

European Collaborative Creativity Conference (EC3)

We are proud to announce a unique scientific event for the Creativity & Innovation community: EC3 – ‘Incubating the Future’!


The European Collaborative Creativity Conference (EC3) joins the 2nd Webster Creativity Week, organized by the Webster Center for Creativity and Innovation (WCCI), and the 3rd MIC Conference organized by the Marconi Institute for Creativity (MIC) under a collaborative framework for the advancement of theory, research, and practice in creativity studies.

Schedule: by joining this event, you will have the chance to spend three days in Geneva at Webster, for the Creativity Week (June 17-19, 2019), cross the Alps on an organized tour, and then continue in Bologna (June 20-22, 2019) for the MIC Conference in the home of Guglielmo Marconi!

Festival of the Technical Culture 2018

Festival of the Technical Culture 2018: two events organized by MIC-FGM


On Saturday November 10 and on Saturaday November 17 MIC will talk about creativity at Villa Griffone. In the first event (November 10) we will talk about: The development of intellectual property: how to combine technical expertise and creative thinking. During the secon event (November 17) we will talk about: Technical-scientific culture & creativity: lessons learned from the genius of Gugliemo Marconi.
